Late last night, democrats finally got their wish when, not one, but three separate tests confirmed that our commander and chief has in fact contracted corona virus. Obviously, every measure will now be taken to ensure that the head of our country is able to continue his leadership while getting the best medical care available. So far, it appears that most of his staff will cease having any physical interaction with the president, though a small number of his closest advisers have agreed to take the risk in order to keep the country on its feet.

Precautions will be taken to minimize the chances of these aids contracting the virus. Masks, and even latex gloves, are being provided for each meeting to avoid contamination. But between these measures, and conference calls with other staffers, and social distancing at news events, President Trump’s ability to lead will not be seriously impeded.

On a slightly more sinister note, Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi has wasted no time jumping on this new development to further her goals and the goals of her party. It’s no secret that the democratic party leadership are desperate to get Trump out of office in any way possible. Now it seems they’ve found a new approach as Nancy declared this morning that the President is “clearly not able to fulfill his duties under the current circumstances. And the country is not able to wait and sit still while the president recovers.”

Other democrats have even gone as far as to reference the much higher death rate associated with those of Trump’s age group. One gets the feeling that these representatives are once again trying to present themselves in a “solemn and somber” way while inwardly holding back smiles.

Though no official steps have been taken, the idea of enacting the twenty-fifth ammendment has been mentioned by multiple party democrats. This ammendment allows for the temporary, or even permanent, removal of a sitting president if sickness or other factors render them unable “to discharge the Powers and Duties of [their] Office.”

Much of the details surrounding both the President’s illness, and the democratic party’s response, are still unclear. We will bring you further updates as they unfold. Until then, please keep the president in your prayers during this especially trying time for our country.
